Due to the Great East Japan Earthquake, the program on 15-16 March was cancelled.
However, the Mission Idea Contest on March 14 was held as planned and "Integrated Meteorological / Precise Positioning Mission Utilizing Nano-Satellite Constellation" by Mr. Yuki Sato et al. of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation Advanced Technology R&D Center was chosen as the 1st prize winner among 10 finalist teams.

The 1st CLTP (CanSat Leaderfs Training Program) was kicked-off at Wakayama University on February 14 with participation of 12 willing-to-be experts of CanSat from 10 different countries.
The documentary film produced by Wakayama University CREA Broadcasting Project Team won the first prize at University Broadcasting Contest organized by NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation).
The film was created from the movies shot in the span of 3 years at several locations such as Wakayama, Akita and Nevada in US to cover the Science Club students of Toin Gakuen High-School in Wakayama of their desperate efforts to develop their CanSat and to win at the honorable CanSat Koshien in 2008, the annual performance competition of high-school students' developed CanSat.
